WEAR “Red for Ed” Tuesday, March 4th
OEA asks that members wear “Red for Ed” and share their pictures on social media tomorrow, Tuesday, March 4, 2025, during the national Protect our Kids Day of Action. On this day, we will stand with educators, parents, community members, and allies across Ohio and the country to oppose education funding cuts at the federal and state levels. As a reminder, we are asking members to:
- Gather before school on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, in a statewide “Red for Ed” day in conjunction with the Protect our Kids Day of Action.
- We ask that you please take group photos with your colleagues and post them to your social media using the hashtags:
- For Facebook and X: #ProtectOurKids and #ProtectOurKidsOH
- For Instagram: #ProtectOurKids and #ProtectOurKidsOH
- Take OEA’s pledge to protect our students and schools!
Back-2-School Gathering
Central is hosting a Back-2-School gathering at the Hofbräuhaus Columbus (800 Goodale Blvd, Columbus, OH 43212) on Aug 21 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM for all members. We will have food, beverages, networking and giveaways.

2024 Central Diversity Conference
The 2024 Central Diversity Conference will take place virtually on February 3rd starting at 9:00 a.m. The theme this year is:
How to: Hurdle Language and Cultural Barriers.

REA General Membership Meeting CHECK YOUR EMAILS!
The Spring General Membership Meeting will be held on Monday, March 20th, at 5:30 p.m. via Zoom. An agenda and Zoom link will be sent out the week prior. Elections for any contested officer or NEA RA Delegate positions will be held at each building on Tuesday, March 21st.
Interested in being an REA Officer?
The Vice President and Treasurer Officer positions are up for election for a (2) year term beginning July 1, 2023. Anyone interested in running for either of these positions, send Susan Alexander an email expressing your interest by Friday, March 10th. For any contested positions candidates will be given the opportunity to speak at the General Membership Meeting on Monday, March 20th, and also communicate a statment via an REA email notification.
