OEA is part of a growing statewide coalition of educators, parents, first responders, seniors, and community members standing together against AxOHTax.
Ohio’s state legislature has broken its commitment to public schools for the last 20 years. The most recent state budget underfunded Ohio’s public schools by nearly $2.75 billion, driving the state’s share of school funding to just 32.2% by 2027 — lower than it was before the Ohio Supreme Court ruled Ohio’s school funding system unconstitutional in 1997.
When the state doesn’t pay its share, local property taxpayers do. AxOHTax doesn’t fix that broken system. It destroys the only reliable source of local school funding that communities have left.
Ohio’s students and families deserve real relief. This amendment isn’t relief — it’s a wrecking ball.
